Creative workshop for Talamh Beo

I was delighted to facilitate a creative engagement workshop for Talamh Beo, a farming organisation that advocates for agroecology and food sovereignty in Ireland.

The workshop was held at the Farming for Nature festival this June. As part of Talamh Beo’s stand, I set up a stamp making workshop where people were asked to respond to the question ‘Where am I creative on my farm?’. Together we created stamps by cutting out simple shapes from foam and glueing them onto hazel stumps. Participants then made beautiful artworks, stamping with ink onto ready-made cards.

The most interesting element for me was holding a space for slow-paced conversations around creativity in farming. So many connections and ideas were shared during the workshop. I found it really inspiring to hear all the small but significant creative actions that farmers are doing to nurture biodiversity and nature on their farms. People dropped in throughout the day and I overheard several times people saying that it was their favourite thing at the festival which was lovely to hear!

I will be compiling a selection of the artworks created at the workshop into a 2027 calendar for Talamh Beo.
