3. Sculptural bindings
Where: Graphic Studio Dublin
When: 10am – 4pm, Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th June 2026
What: This workshop will focus on non-traditional book structures including flag books, flexagons, star books and alternative concertina books. On the first day, we will start by creating paste papers, one of the oldest forms of decorative paper used by bookbinders. The paste paper will be used for the covers and content of the books. We will then go on to create a series of unusual bindings, ones that fold out and expand in unexpected ways.

This course will help to demystify the bookmaking process enabling you to create one-of-a-kind artists’ books.
