Create: Case study of SEED

Create: National Development Agency for Collaborative Arts has published a case study of one of my collaborative projects SEED: objects of wonder. This project is a new mixed media journal of art and writing, devised and curated by writers Felicia Olusanya and Grace Wilentz, and designed and produced by me.

The project was funded by the Arts Council Artist in the Community Scheme which is managed by Create.

As book artist for this project, I developed the structure, design and layout for each issue, carefully creating a beautiful receptacle for the individual artworks. Issue 1 of SEED focused on the theme of ancestors in training. For this issue, I designed and handbound an edition of 40 Accordion Envelope books, as well as designing, laying out and printing the artworks. Issue 2 of SEED focused on the theme of labyrinths. For that issue, I designed and produced an edition of 80 boxes - each of which I handprinted using a labyrinth themed print. I also designed and developed the format and layout for each of the artworks contained within the journal.
